Important — please read carefully. By using MedScholar, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Medical & Educational Disclaimer
MedScholar content is for educational and revision purposes ONLY.
All lessons, questions, flashcards, and other content on MedScholar are created by a medical student based on personal preclinical notes and study materials. This content:
- Has not been reviewed, verified, or approved by any qualified clinician, university, medical school, or regulatory body.
- May contain errors, omissions, or outdated information.
- Is not a substitute for official curricula, peer-reviewed textbooks, clinical guidelines, or your institution's teaching.
- Must never be used to make clinical decisions or guide patient care.
You must not rely on MedScholar content when treating or advising patients. Always refer to up-to-date, authoritative clinical resources and consult qualified healthcare professionals for clinical guidance.
MedScholar and its operator accept
no liability for any harm, loss, or damage — to yourself or others — resulting from reliance on content provided through this platform.
2. Beta Status & Active Development
MedScholar is currently in
Beta. The platform is under active development. This means:
- Content is being continuously added, updated, and corrected over time.
- Some modules, topics, or features may be incomplete or subject to change without notice.
- The service may occasionally be unavailable due to updates or maintenance.
- Features may be added, modified, or removed during the Beta period.
3. Eligibility
MedScholar is intended for use by medical students and healthcare learners aged 18 or over. By using this service you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. We reserve the right to terminate accounts belonging to users under 18.
4. No Accounts
MedScholar does not require user accounts. All your study progress is stored locally on your device using your browser's localStorage. You are responsible for your own data — we cannot recover it if you clear your browser data.
5. Acceptable Use
You may use MedScholar for personal, non-commercial educational purposes only. You must not:
- Copy, reproduce, redistribute, sell, or publish any lesson, question, flashcard, or other content from MedScholar without prior written permission.
- Scrape, crawl, or extract content from MedScholar by automated means.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or access the source code of the application.
- Use the platform in any way that is unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or its infrastructure.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on MedScholar — including lessons, questions, flashcard content, explanations, diagrams, and the application code — is the intellectual property of MedScholar's operator unless otherwise stated.
You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use MedScholar content solely for your own educational revision. This licence does not permit redistribution, sublicensing, or commercial use.
7. Service Availability
MedScholar is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the service will be available at all times, error-free, or uninterrupted. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice.
We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by service downtime or unavailability.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MedScholar and its operator shall not be liable for:
- Any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service.
- Any reliance on content provided through MedScholar for clinical, professional, or any other purposes.
- Any errors or omissions in the educational content.
- Loss of data or progress due to technical failure.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to restrict access to the service at any time if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms.
10. Privacy
Your use of MedScholar is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will provide notice of material changes in the app. Your continued use of MedScholar after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
